A reference dictionary of word origins. Written by the co-developer of the Funk and Wagnalls New Standard Dictionary,it's the most complete of any I've seen. Also check out Hog On Ice, a book about expression origins, by the same author. | THE definative book on the subject. Better than James Gleick's Chaos, although a bit more complicated. Very in-depth, I only recommend it for the mathematically inclined. | |||||||
